T J McLaughlin was born in Wakefield in the UK. After spending his life being a fan of science fiction, and spending several years in the army, he finally fulfilled a constant urge to write a novel.

He's the author of the military science fiction thriller series, Dark Maelstrom. Conflicted Navy Officer Rio Hudson has to lead his crew against an unknown invasive force, as well as having to confront his own tormenting demons.  

 

As well as his love of science fiction, he's also got an interest in true crime and mystery stories. With several books in the pipeline that centre on inexperienced and rookie police officer John Atlas, planned for release in 2025.

 

He's also working on his third novel, Blackdamp, as well as a weekly podcast. A fictional murder mystery hunt, done in the style of a documentary.

He lives in Ossett, West Yorkshire, with his family. When he should be writing, but is being distracted from doing so, he enjoys playing the guitar and exploring new places.
